Florida (Elizabeth):

  • Introduce Structured Expert Judgment as a methodology for source attribution of food- and waterborne pathogens
  • Introduce a national level study examining source attribution of food- and waterborne pathogens in the United States

Oregon (Hillary):

  • Be able to describe Project Mercury and its initial goals
  • Understand how binomial probability calculations are used in outbreak investigations
  • Learn about how to access Project Mercury data
  • Learn about how to participate in Project Mercury

Tennessee (Tamara):

  • Participants will be able to identify potential partners to involve in the creation of local student outbreak response teams and assess the pros and cons of paid versus unpaid student workers.
  • Participants will become familiar with the curriculum outline utilized in the Tennessee Student Outbreak Rapid Response Training and will be able to describe the effectiveness of the training, as evaluated through pre- and post-tests administered to students.
  • Participants will recognize the benefits of completion of the University of Tennessee’s Food Safety Graduate Certificate.
